Strengthening Unity
Across Solihull's
Mosques
A voluntary coalition bringing together the mosques of Solihull and surrounding areas — to cooperate, cross-promote, and serve the wider Muslim community together.
A New Chapter for
Solihull's Mosques
The mosques of Solihull are each doing great work. But separately. Imagine what becomes possible when we start doing it together — sharing knowledge, amplifying each other's events, and building friendships across our communities.
Unity
Mosques working as one family — different in character, united in purpose.
Collaboration
Sharing resources, scholarship, and events for the benefit of all.
Community
Every Muslim in Solihull — regardless of their mosque — belongs to our community.
The Four Pillars
Four practical, voluntary commitments that form the foundation of the Consortium.
Khutbah Exchange
Monthly voluntary imam swap
Each month, a pair of mosques volunteer to exchange their Jummah khutbah. Mosque A's imam speaks at Mosque B, and vice versa. No pressure, no mandate — just mutual trust and a willingness to broaden horizons.
Breaks echo chambers. Builds respect between scholarship and communities.
Shared Event Promotion
Cross-mosque awareness
Your mosque's next event could fill its hall if every mosque in Solihull knew about it. We share event announcements across our network — so families hear about what's happening beyond their own walls.
More attendance. More impact. Less isolation. Stronger community bonds.
Joint Community Events
Bringing all mosques together
An annual community hike through the countryside. Interfaith youth activities. Friendly inter-mosque sports. Events that create memories and friendships — showing that brotherhood is real, not just a word.
Shared experiences build shared identity. Unity becomes tangible.
Monthly Representatives Meeting
One rep per mosque. One shared agenda.
Each mosque sends one representative to a monthly meeting — rotating between mosque venues. No permanent leadership. No hierarchy. Just a practical conversation about how to serve the community better.
Sustainable. Accountable. Transparent. Owned by all mosques equally.
How It Works
This is designed to start small and grow naturally — led by relationships, not grand announcements.
Start with Trust
Identify one mosque you already have a relationship with. Have an honest, low-pressure conversation about the idea. No commitments required at this stage.
Cross-Promote an Event
Begin simply: share each other's next event with your congregations. This single step breaks down the invisible walls between communities.
Exchange the Khutbah
When the trust is there, agree on a voluntary khutbah swap. One Jummah. Both communities are enriched by a new voice and a fresh perspective.
Grow Together
As more mosques join, the consortium takes shape — joint events, regular meetings, and a shared identity as one community across Solihull.
What the Consortium Is
— and Is Not
Clarity here is essential. The Consortium exists to serve, not to govern.
What we are NOT
- A governing body over any mosque
- A religious authority or fatwa council
- A centralised leadership structure
- A means of interfering in mosque governance
- Compulsory membership or commitment
- Affiliated with any political group or ideology
What we ARE
- A voluntary coordination network
- A platform for sharing events and announcements
- A space for imams to meet and build friendships
- A practical tool for serving the Muslim community
- Owned equally by all participating mosques
- Open to any mosque regardless of tradition or background
"Every mosque retains its full independence. The Consortium exists only to create the conditions for cooperation — nothing more."
Is Your Mosque
Ready to Join?
We are in the early stages of building something meaningful. If your mosque is interested in being part of this initiative — whether fully or just to observe — we would love to hear from you.
There are no forms to fill, no commitments to sign. Start with a simple conversation.
Participation in the Solihull Mosque Consortium is entirely voluntary. Each mosque retains its full independence. There is no membership fee and no formal obligation.
This initiative was started by a member of the Solihull Muslim community with a simple belief: that we are stronger together.
